IPL 2025 is ongoing. Let’s have a look at the list of IPL winners in the last 10 years from 2015 to 2024.

1. IPL 2015: Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians (MI) won IPL 2015, defeating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the final. MI dominated the final, clinching the final by 41 runs at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. It was MI’s second IPL title win following their 2013 triumph.

2. IPL 2016: SunRisers Hyderabad

SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) won IPL for the first time in 2016 after defeating Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the final, which was held at RCB’s home ground (M. Chinnaswamy Stadium). It was a high-scoring thriller which went deep. As many as 408 runs were scored in the match, with RCB falling short by eight runs.

3. IPL 2017: Mumbai Indians

MI won the IPL 2017 after defeating Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) in the final at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. MI won the match by just 1 run. Unlike the 2016 final, it was a very low-scoring affair. MI managed to score 129/8 and managed to restrict MS Dhoni-led RPS to 128/6. MI clinched their third IPL title.

4. IPL 2018: Chennai Super Kings

The season marked the return of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to IPL. The Chennai-based franchise celebrated their return by going on to win their third IPL title. It was a southern derby in the final at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. CSK defeated SRH by 8 wickets at the same ground where MS Dhoni led India to 2011 ODI World Cup win. SRH scored 178/6 in the final and CSK chased it down in 18.3 overs, driven by Shane Watson’s 117*(57).

5. IPL 2019: Mumbai Indians

Another odd year and another IPL title win for MI. After clinching titles in 2013, 2015, 2017, MI kept hte steak going. Who did they defeat in the final? CSK, who were playing their second consecutive final after returning from the ban. MI won the match by 1 run. This was the second time that MI won an IPL final by just 1 run. This time Shane Watson’s 80(59) went in vain.

6. IPL 2020: Mumbai Indians

MI clinched IPL 2020 after defeating first-time finalists Delhi Capitals (DC) in the final in Dubai. It was MI’s first win in an even year and their second consecutive title. THey became the second time after CSK (2010, 2011) to win two titles in a row. MI won the match by 5 wickets.

7. IPL 2021: Chennai Super Kings

CSK defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 27 runs to clinch the IPL 2021 final. This was their fourth IPL title. KKR were playing an IPL final after seven years.

8. IPL 2022: Gujarat Titans

Gujarat Titans (GT), playing their first-ever season, won the IPL title, defeating Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the final. RR were playing an IPL final after 14 years, having won the inaugural IPL title in 2008.

9. IPL 2023: Chennai Super Kings

CSK defeated Gujarat Titans by five wickets to win IPL 2023. With this, they equalled MI’s record for winning the IPL most times (five). The final went for 3 days, yes you heard it right! Thanks to the constant rain interruptions in Ahmedabad.

10. IPL 2024: Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR managed to win an IPL title after 10 years by defeating SRH in the final in Chennai. It was a low-scoring affair with KKR dismissing SRH for 113 runs and chasing down the target quite handsomely in just 63 balls. It was KKR’s third IPL title win.
